KRISTIN & RYAN : ENGAGEMENT

She immediately started falling in love the moment she first heard him play his guitar & sing. Simply put, her breath was taken away. She soon realized it was not drums in the band she was hearing, but the pounding & beating of her heart.

Kristin & Ryan are two amazing people, who I now call friends. They are genuine, loving, kind, intelligent & hysterically funny people who are also a BLAST to hang out with. Hopefully you will see their personalities reflected in my photos.

I immediately knew this shoot was going to rock when the sweet sounds of John Mayer & Dave Matthews filled the room. Ryan can play anything, but when he asked...I let him know these are two of my favorite artists too. I originally just wanted to grab a few shots of Ryan with his guitar, but didn't realize I would be getting to hear some great tunes as well. Ryan is an AMAZING singer & guitarist...WOW! It was one incredible way to start the shoot...just the good energy I needed. We did several locations to get all the shots I wanted & although this made for a long shoot, they never once complained. THANK YOU guys for your patience and trusting my crazy ideas. I hope you see the same happiness in these photos that all your friends & family see in you daily...

Love this one...

Oooohhhhhh...yummy angle.

One of my favorites...

I usually keep images very simple & clean with very little "Photoshop-ing"... however, Kristin & Ryan are very hip, contemporary and artsy...so I thought I would try a little retro pop look. Wanted to share just a few of these.

This is definitely...DEFINITELY one of my favorite shots of the day. I love this "almost kiss"...

Kristin laughed the whole day almost...she has one of the most amazing smiles ever!

This was actually the very last shot of the day...and YES...Another one of MY FAVORITES!!!!

And I always love my close-ups. These are some intimate moments at the beach near the end of our shoot. I think these truly show their passion together.

Kristin was so great to give me attitude without laughing...ha.ha. Again, she smiled the whole shoot almost. If I could name this photo it would be called "SULTRY"...

Another of my favorites...

Kristin...It is "See no Evil, Hear no Evil & Speak no Evil"...ha.ha. She had a problem remembering, but of course Ryan was making her laugh too.

These two had me cracking up so hard, I was nervous this series of photos would not be in focus...ha.ha.

Ryan & Kristin will have been engaged ONE YEAR on May 19th....yea yea...and will be married in Sept. I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to capture one of the most important days of their lives. I know from the FUN we had on the engagement shoot that the wedding will be a BLAST too.

Thank you guys for trusting & believing in me. I hope my photos will reflect even a small portion of your "gorgeousness" and the beauty that lies within you both.
xoxo...cassandra

Cassandra, what a great couple to shoot! You have some fun images and some eye-poppers! The first one of you favorites is also one of mine. Great shot! Do you ever use a fill flash for the shadow areas? You may want to try it to pop out the eyes that are in shadow. I love what you do with the images and it's just an observation. Now I am off to catch up on the rest of your blogs. It's been a week since I was on my computer!

hey Al...thanks for the tip about using fill flash. i think you may be referring to photo #9. however, that is one that I intentionally darkened that side of his face in post production...i was trying for a more dramatic effect and to put the sole focus on her. not sure if that worked...ha.ha. anyways, i am one of those people who loves to shoot with all "natural light". I rarely even take a flash on an engagement shoot, but I may have to try & experiment sometime with adding some fill flash. will let you know how it goes. thanks again for stoppin by. ;)
