Amy & Wayne

They met on a blind date...yes a blind date, so for all of you girls who are weary of setups, just know they aren't always bad. Who knows, you may meet your Prince Charming, like Amy did. Amy & Wayne's first date consisted of eating messy burgers (which they laugh about now) and they simply talked about their hobbies, careers & families. Conversation flowed so easily between them because they had so much in common. Amy recalls the feeling of butterflies that day...thinking, WOW he seems like a really sweet guy. They laugh now as she remembers having a back up plan to get away, in case her "blind date" was creepy. Little did she know that she would be meeting the man she would fall in love with and marry. They parted ways that day with a handshake and Wayne promising to call...guess what? HE DID!
And from that day on they would talk everyday by phone or text.

Their lives, their friendship and their love took off in a whirlwind as they began meeting each other's family and friends. It was clear that this was something more than just casual dating...it was the real thing. Amy & Wayne had went from meeting on a blind date to becoming best friends...and at some point simply fell in love with each other.

Then on Nov 10, 2006 while on vacation in The Keys, Wayne proposed to Amy and exactly 1 year later I was blessed enough to document their love, on their wedding day!

As you can tell in this first photo, the day was filled with laughter and smiles and many kisses. It is true that the best relationships are built not only on trust and respect, but also friendship. These two are lucky enough to have all three.

As Amy was showing me around the day before, we entered the room where she would be getting ready...I smiled so BIG when I saw these gorgeous windows with these beautiful curtains.

Amy couldn't have chosen more perfect colors for a fall wedding...The decorations were all coordinated and the flowers were AMAZING! The colors were so vibrant...I fell in love while I was taking these photos.

This is Pyper, Wayne's daughter, she was also the flower girl. Amy and her have such a great bond and it was so wonderful to watch them together.

I love this shot of the guys...Wayne's son, Dylan is in the middle, he was the ring bearer. I do believe this kid never stopped smiling the entire day. Guess he too was happy for his Dad.

And here is Wayne...he doesn't look nervous at all.

During the ceremony, Amy & Wayne incorporated the kids into everything. They had vows, family circle necklaces and even the pouring of the sand...blue for Dylan, pink for Pyper and the black & white for Amy & Wayne. I was very impressed with all the research Amy did to make sure that Wayne's kids would be part of her ceremony to wed their Dad. They are very lucky little kids to have a step Mom that cares so much about them...And I love the bottom right photo where Dylan is looking over into the glass...he was so cute.

Amy & Wayne were married at Stetson University in Deland, Fl. I love this photo, on the steps. Notice how excited Dylan was.

The exterior architecture of the buildings at the University was simply breathtaking.

Amy's flowers were some of the most beautiful that I have ever seen at a wedding. Her flowers were all fresh...I love photographing real bouquets. The colors and combination of flowers Amy choose were exquisite.

This is one of my favorite photos of the day...

And you know how I LOVE my Black & White Photographs...awesome!

Amy had mentioned that Wayne may be a little camera shy, but I think he was too happy to care. He was a great sport the entire day as I snapped photo after photo after photo. After the ceremony we were able to walk around some of these incredible buildings, he would simply ask "where do you want me?"

And a black and white to end...

Before closing I would like to extend my gratitude to a very dear and wonderful friend of mine, who recommended me to Amy...THANK YOU MEAGHAN! Meaghan is one of my very best friends...we met some years back when we were both living in Key West. We left the Keys around the same time to pursue dreams and careers, but remained the closest of friends. Meg, Thank you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself...thank you for your encouragement and your support. You are an amazing person & a good friend...

Also....Amy & Wayne, Thank You for trusting me with your most sacred day...I hope I was able to capture the love, the happiness and even the humor for you. May your love continue to grow and your happiness touch those around you. You are two remarkable people and I feel so blessed that our paths crossed...
